Our AML and Verification Policy

Every account at Allbritish Casino sits inside a regulated framework. We hold licence MGA/B2C/211/2011 from the Malta Gaming Authority, operated by L&L Europe Ltd since 2013, and that licence obliges us to know who plays on our platform and where their money comes from. This page sets out exactly what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our AML Commitment

Money laundering is the attempt to pass criminally obtained funds through a legitimate business. As a licensed operator under the Malta Gaming Authority, we are bound by the Prevention of Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism Regulations and the MGA's Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism directives. We meet those obligations through a documented programme owned by our Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).

In practice this means we identify every customer, monitor transaction patterns, report suspicious activity to the Malta Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit, and train our staff to recognise the warning signs. We do not tip off customers when a report has been made; that is a legal prohibition, not a choice. Our licence, our banking relationships and the integrity of the platform you play on all depend on this framework.

  • Customer due diligence at the points required by law
  • Ongoing transaction and behavioural monitoring
  • Suspicious activity reporting to the relevant authority
  • Independent audit of our AML programme
  • Staff training refreshed annually

When We Verify Your Account

Verification runs on three triggers. First, we run electronic identity checks at registration using the details you provide. Second, we request full documentation before your first withdrawal: photo ID, proof of address and payment method verification. Third, we may re-verify at any point if your deposits cross risk thresholds, if your behaviour changes materially, or if a document expires.

You can deposit and play before full verification in most cases, but nothing leaves the platform until we have confirmed who you are and that the payment method is yours. Doing it early avoids delays later.

  • Photo ID: passport, driving licence or national ID card, valid and legible
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or official letter dated within the last three months
  • Payment method: photo of the card (middle digits masked) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or bank account showing your name

How Verification Works Step by Step

Upload your documents through the secure verification area of your account rather than by email. Files go straight into an encrypted storage system accessible only to our compliance team. We never share your documents with third parties except where the law requires it.

  • Log in and open the verification section of your account
  • Photograph or scan each document, all four corners visible, no glare
  • Upload the files through the secure portal
  • Our compliance team reviews them, normally within 24 hours
  • You receive an email the moment your account is approved or if we need anything further

Why We May Ask for Source of Funds

If the money flowing into your account is out of step with the profile we hold for you, we are required to ask where it comes from. This is not an accusation; it is a statutory obligation that applies to every licensed operator in our jurisdiction. Typical triggers include large deposits, rapid deposit patterns, deposits from multiple payment methods, or gameplay that suggests the account is being used for something other than gambling.

Acceptable evidence includes payslips, a employment contract, bank statements showing regular income, pension or benefit letters, sale contracts, dividend statements or inheritance documentation. We assess what you send, reach a decision, and lift the restriction once we are satisfied. Everything you provide is treated as confidential.

Deposit and Withdrawal Monitoring

Every transaction on our platform passes through automated screening before it settles. Deposits are checked against your limits, your verified payment methods and sanction lists. Withdrawals follow the same-method rule: funds return to the same card, e-wallet or bank account they came from, unless you contact support to arrange an exception where the original method is closed.

The practical limits are straightforward. Minimum deposit and withdrawal is £10, the maximum withdrawal is £10,000 per day, and we charge no fees. E-wallet withdrawals are processed within 24 hours; cards and bank transfers take one to three business days after compliance review.

What Happens if Verification Fails

If you do not provide documents when we ask, or the documents do not satisfy us, your account moves into a restricted state. Deposits are blocked, play stops and withdrawals are held until the issue is resolved. We will always tell you what is missing and give you a fair window to respond.

If verification ultimately fails, or we find evidence of fraud, use of false identity, third-party payment methods or activity linked to money laundering, we close the account. Legitimate winnings on verified funds are still paid out where the law allows; money we assess as connected to criminal conduct is frozen and reported to the authorities. You have the right to complain through our support team and, if unsatisfied, through the MGA's player dispute channel.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

Regulations require us to retain verification records for five years after the end of the business relationship, so we hold your KYC documents for that period even after your account closes. The retention serves audits, regulatory inspection and financial crime investigations. After the retention period expires, documents are securely destroyed. Our support team is available 24/7 via live chat or at [email protected] if you have questions about any of this.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I withdraw before my account is fully verified?

No. We verify every account before the first withdrawal: photo ID, proof of address and payment method ownership. This is a licence condition, not an optional extra.

How long does verification take?

Most documents are reviewed within 24 hours of upload. You will receive an email as soon as your account is approved or if anything further is needed.

Why do withdrawals go back to the same method I deposited with?

The same-method rule prevents money laundering and fraud. Funds must return to the card, e-wallet or bank account in your name that they originated from.

Is my ID safe with you?

Yes. Documents are uploaded through an encrypted portal and stored in access-controlled systems. Only our compliance team can view them, and we never sell or share them except where the law requires.
